Micro-needling

The Micro-needling treatment is typically used for skin rejuvenation and improvement of scars. This treatment uses a micro-needling device to create micro needle punctures that cause mild trauma to the skin’s surface to stimulate the natural production of new collagen and elastin. PRP or hyaluronic acid (HA) serum is placed where the channels are made. 

It is recommended to have monthly micro-needling treatment to maintain maximum effects.

• If you have active acne in area of treatment you will need to reschedule your appointment.
• Please arrive with fully cleansed skin: no makeup, moisturizers, perfume,  cologne, or any other products on the skin.
• Avoid Retin-A, retinoids, topical antibiotics, exfoliants, hydroquinone and benzyl  peroxide 3 days prior to treatment. 
• Topical numbing crème will be applied pre-treatment. Notify us of any medication  allergies. Your suitability for treatment will be assessed during the consultation phase.
• Micro-needling cannot be done while pregnant or breastfeeding.
• No sun exposure, tanning beds, self-tanning products for three days prior to the  procedure. The procedure will need to be rescheduled if you are sunburnt.  
• None of the following can be used or performed two weeks prior to treatment:  chemical peels, waxing, and chemical hair removal products. 
• Do not shave the treated area the day of the procedure
• Bring a hat to wear after your treatment.  

Use only sunscreen spf30+ for the first four days after your treatment.

Avoid:

• sun exposure for at least 14 days, ideally 30 days after procedure.
• tanning beds, or self-tanning products for 7-14 days after procedure.
• picking or exfoliating the area treated.
• vitamin A products 7 days post treatment (including Retin-A, Retinol,  Tazorac).
• chemical peels 14 days post treatment.
• shaving 3 days after procedure, if skin is irritated continue to wait before  shaving.
• toners for 14 days post treatment.
• sweating, exercising, Jacuzzi, sauna, steam bath until skin irritation has  resolved (3-7 days). exfoliating medications or chemical products or devices for at least 7 days post treatment. taking Ibuprofen

Reactions from treatment may include: skin redness and flushing, tightness, itching, tenderness, stinging, swelling and some pinpoint bleeding. Effects will usually typically resolve within hours and many people are able to return to their  normal activities the same or next day. Some people may react differently and may experience  these reactions for longer. However, these reactions are temporary and typically resolve within 3-4 days as the skin returns to normal.
